As cyber threats evolve, Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) has become a frequent target for attackers, exploiting exposed RDP ports—particularly port 3389. These vulnerabilities have led to numerous cyberattacks, posing significant risks to organizations relying on traditional RDP access for remote connectivity. Exium addresses this pressing challenge by offering a comprehensive Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) solution that revolutionizes how RDP access is secured and managed.
Exium deploys a cutting-edge approach to eliminate the inherent risks associated with conventional RDP access, enhancing security through Secure HTTPS RDP Access:
No Open RDP Ports |
Secure HTTPS URL |

Unlike traditional RDP setups, Exium completely locks down port 3389, ensuring it is not exposed to the public internet. This eliminates a primary attack vector exploited by cybercriminals. | Users access RDP through a secure HTTPS URL, which securely delivers the RDP configuration needed for remote access. This approach leverages the secure tunnels established over HTTPS, drastically reducing exposure to attacks. |

Exium simplifies Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) access without the complexities and costs of Microsoft RDS. Here's how to get started:
1. Configuration: Your IT administrator configures the target machine(s) for agentless RDP access via the Exium admin portal. Standard RDP must be enabled on the target machine.
2. Access Invitation: You'll receive an email with a unique URL for agentless RDP access.
3. Secure Authentication: Click the URL. You'll be prompted to authenticate using your SSO credentials or Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
4. RDP Client Download: After successful authentication, you'll be prompted to download a secure RDP client. Save the downloaded file.
5. Launch RDP: Locate the saved file and double-click to launch the RDP session.
6. Connect and Access: Click "Connect" to establish a secure connection to the remote machine.
Please be aware that, for security purposes, your downloaded RDP connection client may expire, requiring you to re-authenticate and download a new file.
7. Login with your RDP Credentials: Enter your RDP credentials when prompted, Click "OK".
That's it! You now have secure access to your remote machine via Exium's agentless RDP solution. Contact your IT administrator if you encounter any issues. You might see a warning about connecting to an untrusted source; this is expected and can be safely dismissed by clicking "Yes."
In a landscape where cyber threats against RDP are prevalent, Exium’s SASE offers a transformative solution to secure remote access, eliminating the vulnerabilities of exposed RDP ports like 3389. By providing secure RDP access over HTTPS, Exium not only enhances security but also simplifies the remote connectivity experience.
