To ensure seamless browsing of SSL-encrypted web pages, web browsers rely on Root Certificates. Without the correct certificate on your device, you might encounter error messages while navigating the web. For Exium users on Chromebooks and mobile devices, failing to install the Exium Root Certificate can result in a warning page when accessing blocked URLs. Installing this certificate allows you to view notifications securely in HTTPS SSL/TLS format.
While connected to Exium on your Chromebook, visit https://block.block. If you see a “Not secure” warning, it indicates that you need to install the Exium Trusted Root CA Certificate on your device.
Choosing “Proceed to block.block (unsafe)” will still present you with the “Not secure” warning, confirming that the certificate is missing. Once you install the Trusted Root CA Certificate using this guide, the warning will be resolved. Let’s move forward with the installation.
Click the provided link to download the Exium Root Certificate file onto your device.
In your Chrome browser, type or navigate to: chrome://settings/security or go to “Settings,” then select “Privacy and Security,” and click on “Manage Certificates.”
In the Certificates window, click on “Authorities,” then select “Import.”
Find the Exium Root Certificate file you just downloaded and click “Open” or double-click the file to open it.
Under “Trust Settings,” check the boxes for “Trust this certificate for identifying websites” and “Trust this certificate for identifying email users.” Once selected, click “OK.”
The Exium Trusted Root CA Certificate will now be installed, and you should see it listed under “Authorities.”
After successfully installing the Exium Root CA Certificate, revisit https://block.block while still connected to Exium on your Chromebook. You should no longer see the “Not secure” warning, confirming that your connection is now secure.
Thank you for taking the time to enhance your browsing security!
