In an increasingly interconnected digital landscape, Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and their clients are in constant need of secure, efficient, and user-friendly authentication mechanisms. Exium's IAM360 with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) offers a comprehensive solution that leverages Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML)-based Single Sign-On (SSO) to meet these needs, providing enhanced security and streamlined access.
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA): By requiring two or more verification factors, Exium’s IAM360 significantly mitigates the risks associated with password-only authentication methods. This additional layer of security helps protect sensitive data and systems from unauthorized access, even if user credentials are compromised.
SAML-based SSO: By utilizing SAML for SSO, IAM360 ensures that user credentials are not repeatedly transmitted across the network, reducing the risk of credential interception.
2
Streamlined User Experience:
Single Sign-On (SSO): SSO simplifies the user experience by allowing users to authenticate once and gain access to multiple applications and services. This reduces the burden of remembering multiple passwords and enhances productivity by minimizing login interruptions.
Centralized Authentication: With centralized identity and access management, both MSPs and their clients can easily manage user access and permissions from a single platform.
3
Ease of Integration and Management:
Interoperability: SAML is an industry-standard protocol for exchanging authentication and authorization information between parties, ensuring that IAM360 can integrate with a wide range of applications and services commonly used by MSPs and their clients.
Scalability: IAM360 is designed to scale with the business, making it suitable for organizations of all sizes. It provides flexibility in managing a growing number of users and applications without compromising security or performance.
Admin-Friendly Management Tools: IAM360 includes intuitive administrative interfaces and tools that allow for efficient user and policy management. This ease of management reduces administrative overhead and allows IT teams to focus on more strategic initiatives.
4
Regulatory Compliance:
Audit Logs and Reporting: Comprehensive logging and reporting features help organizations meet regulatory requirements by providing detailed records of authentication and access events.
Privacy and Data Protection: By securing authentication processes and user data, IAM360 supports compliance with data protection regulations like GDPR, HIPAA, and others.
If you have not already logged in to your IAM365 Console, follow the steps here.
¶ Step 2: Download the SAML 2.0 Identity Provider Metadata
For SAML-based SSO login to various apps, Exium IAM acts as the Identity Provider. Most apps will allow you importing SAML 2.0 Identity Provider Metadata that you can download from your IAM360 console by following the steps below.
Click on “IAM” in the left menu bar → “Identity Management”
Realm settings → click on the “SAML 2.0 Identity Provider Metadata” URL to down the file.
You can then import this file into the SSO module of the app you are integrating with, see Salesforce SSO integration guide here.
If the app you are integrating with does not allow importing “SAML 2.0 Identity Provider Metadata” file, you can copy and manually enter the information from the file.
Once you have completed the integration steps on the app you are integrating with, you may be able to download the “Metadata file” from the app, see Salesforce example here. If this is the case, you can simply import the client into you IAM360 console to create the SAML client.
Click on “IAM” in the left menu bar → “Identity Management”
Click on “Clients” → “Import client”
Click on “Browse” and select the Metadata file you downloaded from the app you are integrating with
Save the settings
If the app you are integrating with does not have option to download Metadata, you can manually create a client by clicking on “Create client” in your IAM360 console.
